**Due to Covid-19 Tool Share is currently on hold. Tool Share is planned to reopen in phases starting beginning of June**
Tool Share lends tools, runs workshops on tool use and maintenance, and empowers neighbours to get more hands on! Sharing resources is a powerful way to tackle waste, cut back on carbon emissions and get to know your neighbours.
We have over 100 items in our catalogue, from simple screwdrivers and hammers, to power tools, cooking and craft equipment. These are all found on our online booking system, MyTurn, where we also manage our Bike Pool rentals. We continue to add to the selection – let us know if you think something is missing.
Currently we are working on new ways to run the project with locker systems at the Student Union and University library. Keep an eye out for updates here.
How to Join Tool Share
1) Become a Member
For £15 per year you can borrow as many as tools as you wish, for free. You will need to provide proof of ID so we can verify your identity before your first tool loan.
2) Browse the Library
Browse our online library on MyTurn. Found what you are looking for and reserve it.
3) Pick it Up
Currently, collections are managed at 7 Woodburn Place. We aim to have collection points based at the Student Union and the University library starting beginning of June.
We are looking for people to get involved in other ways too. You can simply donate tools or volunteer to help with tool maintenance and lending. Get in touch below.
