At this time of year we are lucky enough to still have access to local apples for our baking. I am Tansy Torkington, the coordinator of our Skill Share project. Here I’ll be sharing this zero waste recipe for making a Christmas Apple Crumble. Here it is, hope you all enjoy.
Step 1: Save time and food waste by no longer bothering to peel the apples before adding to the crumble.
Step 2: My kids are so used to the apple skins that I don’t even blend up the apples. But for this crumble I did.
Step 3: After blending the apple skin disappears.
Step 4: I swirled some mincemeat through the apple puree. Do not worry, ours is vegan.
Step 5: Just before baking I sprinkled some cinnamon on top. Place it the oven and wait for it…
Step 6: Take it out, breathe in the sweat smells and enjoy. But where is that soya cream!
