Taking place each June at St Andrews East Sands, the BioBlitz is 24-hours of biological surveys. Yet these events are more than a way of gathering scientific data. They are a great chance to get the community interested in the local wildlife and conservation. Students, volunteers, scientists and anyone interested in nature and outdoor activities take part.
The data allows us to understand the area better and see which wildlife is changing it’s behaviour because of climate change.
How to Get Involved
Transition has been involved in organising the St Andrews BioBlitz since it began in 2014.
It is a prime opportunity to connect with the local environment, learn about the great wildlife of St Andrews and spend time like-minded individuals and groups.
Getting involved is open to all even if you aren’t a part of the University. Either drop us an email or join the Facebook page.
