Buchanan Gardens St Andrews KY169LX
Transition University of St Andrews is offering eight lucky people the opportunity to become Cycling Scotland Cycle Trainers. This four day course, which normally costs £300, will show you how to deliver all three levels of the UK National Standards of cycle training to both children and adults.
As a Cycle Trainer, you can conduct risk assessments, plan, develop and deliver learning sessions to anyone that wants to cycle. If delivering courses to children, this is known as Bikeability Scotland Training.
If you have a genuine interest in making your community, you child’s school or your university more cycle friendly then get in touch.
Achieving the Cycling Scotland Cycle Trainer Certificate can help you if you are:
- a student looking to improve your CV, or make your university more cycle friendly.
- a parent who wants to support those at your child’s school to be safer on bikes by delivering Bikeability training.
- a community leader looking to improve the quality of your environment by getting people on their bikes.
- an active cyclist keen to pass on your passion for cycling and to nurture future cyclists.
NOTE: You will need a working bike for this course. You will also need to wear appropriate clothing for outdoor cycling and bring a packed lunch. It will run over two weekends Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd March and Saturday and Sunday 9th and 10th March, from 9.30am to 4pm.
