This October, Transition University of St Andrews are joining forces with St Andrews Photography Festival and St Andrews University’s Green Week for a special edition of our Climate Conversations workshops allowing locals to come together to discuss their climate concerns, positive visions of low carbon future and personal climate action.

It was a scary Summer in climate news: record July heatwave temperatures in London and other European cities, Greenland’s ice melting at unprecedented rates, Iceland mourning the disappearance of its first glacier, UK governments declaring climate emergency and much else besides.

The record turn out to draw a ‘line in the sand’ at West Sands Beach on 20th of September, a day of global climate strike action, clearly showed young people’s concern about the state of the climate, frustration with lack of climate action and fear for their future here in St Andrews.

Are you concerned about the future? Join others at one of our October Climate Conversations for a friendly facilitated discussion of the climate crisis, what it means to you and what the practical actions we can take to tackle it here at St Andrews. Sessions are open to anyone and we would like to hear a variety of voices of different ages and backgrounds. Make your reservation via Eventbrite now to avoid disappointment.

Our October edition of Climate Conversations will be based around images from @EveryDayClimateChange Instagram collective exhibition at the Gateway Building, a part of this year’s St Andrews Photography festival, 4-27th October. The first session also contributes to St Andrews Green Week, 7-14th October, coordinated by the Environment Subcommittee of the University’s Student Union.

Below is the list of the October workshops, all due to take place at the University Gateway Building. Turn up around 20 minutes before the session starts to have a look around the @EveryDayClimateChange exhibition. Please make sure you book via Eventbrite as places are limted to 10 participants per group:
